Our Life With Jesus

It is taught, "Faith is not based on feeling." True. Marriage is also not based on feeling. However, marriage without feelings is drudgery, and so is faith (our life with Christ). We base our Faith and our Marriage on commitment, but certainly the Lord created emotions for our pleasure and His. What a wonderful freedom to know the emotions in our Faith walk are not wrong! In our relationship with the Lord, He wants to love us passionately. He also desires us to love Him passionately!

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth." Revelation 3:15-16

Roadblocks

It's interesting how the Lord will bring roadblocks of decision into our lives. I can pinpoint times in my life in which the Lord has brought an issue to my attention.

If I choose to surrender and follow Him, the road is clear. However, if I don't allow Him to clean that area and fill it with His presence, a roadblock comes across my journey and it seems I can go no further.

The Lord's grace brings me back around to that issue after I grieved for what had been lost. The next time, I am ready. I surrender, and am amazed at the journey that lies ahead!

How wonderful is the Lord our God! So Faithful and Loving and Patient!

"Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14

A Powerful Skit

One Sunday, our youth did a skit at our church. It was such a thought-provoking skit that I wanted to find it and watch it again. Here are 2 versions of the skit, with lyrics that follow.

The message? Life (and the Enemy) can put things in our way of pursuing God and accepting Jesus into our lives. But when we turn to Him, He is ready for us to come and helps us fight through the battles to come back to Him!

"Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25

Lyrics for the song, "Everything" by Lifehouse

Find Me Here/Speak To Me/I want to feel you/I need to hear you/You are the light/That's leading me/To the placewhere I find peace, again.

You are the strength, that keeps me walking./You are the hope, that keeps me trusting./You are the light, to my soul./You are my purpose, you're everything.

And how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?/Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

You calm the storms, and you give me rest./You hold me in your hands, you won't let me fall./You still my heart, and you take my breath away./Would you take me in? /Take me deeper now?

And How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?/Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?/And how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?/Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?/Cause you're all I want, you're all I need/You're everything, everything/You're all I want, you're all I need/You're everything, everything./You're all I want, you're all I need./You're everything, everything/You're all I want, you're all I need./You're everything, everything.

Family Life

It's so easy to let the busyness of life run over my family. I get frustrated and demanding, critical and sharp. That's not at all what the joy of the Lord should look like, especially to those who should be top on my priority list.

This is my prayer:
I want to DELIGHT in my children. (Not just see what's wrong with them.)
Correct your son, and he will give you rest; Yes, he will give delight to your soul. Proverbs 29:17

I want to VALUE and SUPPORT my husband. (Not be so self-focused.)
Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others. Proverbs 12:15 (NLT)
